Roma recently showed her cricketing skills at the Rangatahi Festival, representing the Pasifika Girls’ team in a historic campaign. The 19 Pasifika girls made an incredible breakthrough, winning their first-ever game against the New Zealand Māori Girls—a team they had never beaten in previous years.
In their second game, they fought hard but fell short, with NZ Māori securing the cup based on run rate. However, the Pasifika team bounced back claiming victory over the South Asian Girls in their final match.
Roma also competed in the Auckland Cricket Association Summer Series U17 Girls T20, a Junior/Youth Round Robin Tournament. This year, she and a group of girls formed a ‘mixed club’ team, bringing together players from different clubs to compete. They were placed second.
With achievements like these, Roma has proved she is key player in the cricket community and an inspiration for young females.
