Welcome to the Rutherford College Kotuku Foundation.

The Rutherford College Kōtuku Foundation is a charitable trust established in 2022.  

The Foundation has been set up to invest in Rutherford students’ futures for their personal benefit and the future benefit of the Rutherford community.  

​The Foundation looks forward to connecting with the Rutherford community to help achieve its mission to support students to strive for personal excellence.

Supporting students to strive for personal excellence by investing in their futures for their personal benefit and the future benefit of the Rutherford Community.

How are we supporting them?

Providing financial assistance to students for ongoing opportunities inside and outside the classroom which they otherwise wouldn't be able to participate in, such as academic and trade scholarships.

Students can apply directly for grants or be nominated. The Trustees will assess applications throughout the year.

How can you support the Foundation?

Kotuku Trust Grant Funding

The Rutherford College Kotuku Trust was set up to use funding to support students or ex-students of Rutherford College.

Our support is guided by a commitment to meeting the individual needs of students and their pursuit of academic excellence. 

Application Criteria:

  • This funding is available to a current student or a student who has attended Rutherford College within the last 5 years. 
  • ​A person who has a proven track record of success who may have experienced hardship or adversity and risen above it to continue their educational pathway. 
  • The funding may assist them to take the next step or start them off on their academic journey post-secondary school.
  • It could include costs associated with their chosen activity or course such as course fees and/or equipment 
  • The successful applicant will need to provide proof of where the money has been used in the form of receipts.

Application Information:

All applications must be submitted by 5.00pm on 1 August.
Available funding for 2025 - $1000.00 

Applicants will be notified of the outcome within four weeks of the closing date.
