Term one has seen a great start to the 2025 House competition. Swimming sports kicked off the year with a great day of swimming action in the sunshine. Tama-nui-te-rā took the honours with Tāne Mahuta in second and Ruaumoko coming third.
Athletics Day followed shortly after, and this saw some wonderful participation from the whole school and some great inter-house rivalry. Tama-nu-te-rā and Tāne Mahuta were a close third and second respectively, with Ruaumoko proving to be too strong, winning the day by a big margin. A special thanks to Gill and the Sports Committee for the wonderful mahi in making sure these days were a success.
The term finished with a Haka competition which was one of our best and closest yet. Tāne Mahuta set the standard right from the start and eventually were declared the winners, with Ruaumoko in second. Thank you to our House Leaders and Captains, and our Kapa Haka students who led the practices and preparation for this event. The day culminated with a Haka honouring the service to the school from Deputy Principal Bryce Wills.
Thank you to all of our students and staff for entering into the spirit of the House Competition, representing their Houses with mana.
Ngā mihi
