Sports Awards Celebrations 2026

Once Again our Rutherford College Sports Awards Evening was a Fantastic Success

Once again, our Rutherford College Sports Awards Evening was a fantastic success and a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the incredible sporting talent we have within our school.

We have some extremely talented young people at Rutherford and it was fantastic to see their achievements celebrated alongside their families, coaches, staff and fellow students.

A night like this doesn’t happen without a huge amount of work behind the scenes, so a very big thank you to everyone who helped make the evening such a success. A special thank you to Loren, who once again did an amazing job setting everything up and making sure the evening looked fantastic. Thank you also to Hamish and Marissa for all their help on the night.

A special shout out to Josh Teope being our photographer for the evening capturing all these special moments. And for our amazing Kapa Haka students opening our special Sports Awards evening, you always set the tone.

We were incredibly lucky to have Rob Loe, New Zealand basketball representative and professional basketball player, join us as our guest speaker. Rob shared his journey through basketball and spoke about how he worked his way towards becoming a professional athlete. It was fascinating for our students to hear about his experiences, the challenges he faced along the way and what it takes to reach the highest levels of sport.
