The Rutherford College Girls’ 1st XI Hockey team recently competed at the Mary Clinton Hockey Tournament

The Rutherford College Girls’ 1st XI Hockey team recently competed at the Mary Clinton Hockey Tournament, hosted by Auckland Hockey. 

The tournament was a great opportunity for the team to demonstrate the progress they have made over the past 18 months. With a strong focus on developing their skills, building team culture and working together, the girls were able to put their hard work into action on the turf. 

The girls also produced some outstanding goals and made some great plays throughout the tournament, showing the improvement and confidence that has come from their continued commitment. 

A big part of this progress has come from the time and effort Coach Alyssa has put into developing the team, both on and off the turf. Her focus on building the girls’ skills, confidence and team culture has helped create a strong foundation for the team to continue growing. 

With plenty of work going into developing both their skills and team culture, the team is looking forward to continuing this progress and building on their success in 2027. 

A big thank you to Mr White for his support as team manager, and to our Year 13 players for their commitment to hockey and the leadership they provided throughout the tournament.

Well done, girls, on a fantastic step forward for Rutherford College Hockey!
