Athletics Day - 20 February

THEME: - Superheroes and Cartoon Characters 

Our School Athletics Day is the one sporting event where the entire school comes together. The focus of the day is on enjoyment, participation, and achievement. Athletics Champions will also be determined from this event. Get involved and support your House!

Please be prepared to spend the entire day on the fields. No students are permitted to wander—if you need to go anywhere, you must report to a teacher first.

DRESS REGULATIONS- 

The theme for this year’s Athletics Day is Superheroes and Cartoon Characters! Come dressed as your favorite hero or character while still showing off your house colors. Let’s make the day FUN!!

  • All students (and staff) are encouraged to dress in their House color. Year 9–10 students who choose not to dress in House colors must wear their PE uniform. Prizes for Best Dressed
  • Reminder this is a school event and suitable/respectable attire is excepted
  • Dress/costume must be appropriate for participating in Athletics.
  • Students may wear face paint, but this is to be applied in the morning.DO NOT carry any containers of paint around with you. 
  • Wear sunscreen, bring a hat, and carry a water bottle. 

 MORNING PROCEDURES

  • Report to your Tutor Class first thing in the morning for roll call.
  • Walk with your Tutor Class to your designated House color area on the field.
  • Remain seated in your House area until events are announced.

EVENT PARTICIPATION

All students are expected to compete in events.

Year 9 & 10

Compulsory: Minimum- 3 events eg-1 Track Event + 2 Field Events

Each event earns participation points for your House.

Year 11,12 & 13

Compulsory: 1 Track Event + 1 Field Event

After completing two events, students will receive wristbands giving access to the Fun Zone.

FUN ZONE INSTRUCTIONS- open 11.00am-1.00pm 

Year 11,12,13 Students complete 2 athletics events first

  • You will receive a blue-colored wristband at the events you participate in – total number of wristbands require is 2
  • After 2 events, you can attend the fun zone

Fun Zone:

Each year level goes only to:

  • Year 13 Fun Zone
  • Year 12 Fun Zone
  • Year 11 Fun Zone

Each has 3 fun activity stations.

The Fun Zone cannot start running until at least 20 wrist banded students have arrived. Once it has 20+, the zone starts a full open session, and ALL students who arrive can enter 

Fun Zone runs in sessions

  • Approx 20–25-minute session then rotates to next event 

TIMING & BREAKS

There are no scheduled intervals or Lunch break as we need to ensure all events are completed on the day. There will be opportunities for students to grab something to eat. 

FOOD & DRINK SALES – BRING YOUR MONEY

  • Sausage Sizzle: $3.00
  • Lollies: $2.00 
  • Drinks: $2.50

END OF DAY PROCEDURE – 2:55pm

  • Students will help with rubbish pick-up (led by the announcer).
  • Return to Tutor Class for final roll call.
  • Students will be released from Tutor Class.
