Junior Boys T20 Cricket Tournament

Junior Boys T20 Cricket Tournament

The Boys’ Cricket team attended the Auckland Year 9 & 10 Twenty20 Cricket Tournament

During last week’s Junior Summer Tournament Week, the Boys’ Cricket team attended the Auckland Year 9 & 10 Twenty20 Cricket Tournament held at Keith Hay Park. The three-day tournament provided an excellent opportunity for the team to get valuable game time before the Christmas break and to build on their recent performances in the 40-over weekly grade they are currently competing in.

Unfortunately, the weather didn’t play ball, and several games were rain-affected. Despite this, the boys still produced some strong performances and made the final of their division, just falling short against a classy Kristin Colts side to finish second and take home the silver medal.

There were several standout individual performances throughout the week, with special mentions to Cohen Bell and Corry Ball with the ball, and to Zain Mirza for an impressive 58 runs off 36 balls in the final.

A big thank you once again to Saf for coaching this group. We look forward to the rest of the season over summer.
