On Friday 17th October Rutherford College hosted its annual Sports Awards Evening
On Friday 17th October Rutherford College hosted its annual Sports Awards Evening, an event dedicated to celebrating the sporting excellence, commitment, and team spirit of our students.
This year’s awards evening featured a refreshed format, with all top team members invited to share the celebration. Students, staff, and whānau came together to recognize the outstanding achievements of 2025.
The night began with dinner, providing a chance for teams and coaches to relax. Guests were then treated to an inspiring talk from Callum Gilbert, a New Zealand Olympic slalom canoeist. Callum shared his personal journey, highlighting the perseverance, dedication, and resilience required to compete at the highest level, lessons that resonated strongly with everyone in the room.
