Last Thursday, on the 7th August, seven Rutherford College students looked forward to the Auckland Secondary School Badminton Championships.

A full day of competition and tough battles, ending with Rutherford taking home a medal.

On the Boys Doubles side, the pair closely defeated Waitakere College, alongside an exciting victory for the Girls Doubles side.

The matches were closely contested for the Boys Singles sides and even more successful for the Girls Singles run.

As the Rutherford College team watched closely, Becky Lin persevered through until the Girls Singles Finals, facing off with Rangitoto College for Gold. With bated breath and a long match of three sets, Rangitoto came out on top, with Rutherford coming home with the Silver Medal.

Congratulations to Becky and the rest of the Rutherford College team for a successful day in representing the Kotuku!
