Kia ora te whanau ō te Kōtuku

I would like to congratulate and acknowledge all the students who performed at last Friday night's Music Extravaganza. It was an evening where we could reflect with pride on the hard work and commitment that students and staff have put in over this and previous years. It certainly was a pleasure to be in attendance and see further evidence of the strength of this area of our school. Big thank you to Mrs Taula, Mr. Maxwell and Antonina and the wider team for their time and expertise.

Our Year 9 and 10 students would have completed their first day of Wider Living activities and I trust they enjoyed the change in routine, environment and the people they got to enjoy the day with. Thanks to the staff who organized all the trips and in particular Miss Power for her overall coordination of the process that sits behind the actual events that took place.

I look forward to acknowledging our Year 9 and 10 students who will receive awards at our academic prizegiving. Our junior school is in good health and there is much to celebrate in terms of academic progress and achievement.

The following quote by Winston Churchill about striving for personal excellence through grit and determination is what we will be celebrating at prizegiving for the Year 9 and 10 students next week.

“Continuous effort-not strength or intelligence is the key to unlocking our potential”
