A Huge Thank You to Our Students, Staff, Families and Visiting Musicians

What a fantastic evening of music at this year’s Rutherford College Music Extravaganza! The concert celebrated the incredible talent, dedication and diversity of our young musicians, bringing together the Jazz Band, String Ensemble, Choir, Te Kotuku Kapa Haka and Concert Band, alongside special guest performers from Te Atatū Intermediate and the cross-school jazz combo Bi-Fore We Go.

From beautiful strings and powerful choral performances to energetic jazz and outstanding concert band performances, the evening showcased the strength and growth of music across our wider school community.

A special highlight was seeing the Te Atatū Intermediate Advanced Band join our Concert Band for Spy Chase — a wonderful celebration of the musical journey shared by many of our students. 

A huge thank you to our students, staff, families and visiting musicians for making Music Extravaganza 2026 such a memorable night. We are incredibly proud of our young musicians and look forward to seeing where their musical journeys take them next!
