On Thursday 31 July our Rutherford concert band played a concert at the Te Manawa library. It was a great opportunity for our students to perform for the community and practice for the upcoming KBB festival.
The band left school during tutor time to travel by bus to Te Manawa, in Westgate. We began our concert at 12:30. Mrs Marriot’s mum was there on her birthday, so the band sang her a very happy birthday song!
Our repertoire included all of our KBB music, as well as well known tunes from The Incredibles, Lion King, and Henry Mancini. Overall some really cool music!
We had a kind audience made up of supportive family members and young families coming to read, who really seemed to enjoy the music.
We want to say thank you to all the people who made this possible, such as the lovely librarians and our amazing music teachers, Mrs Marriott and Mrs Taula.
