Outstanding Performance at the NZCT Chamber Music Contest

Outstanding Performance at the NZCT Chamber Music Contest

Congratulations to our talented Charlotte Marriott and her ensemble

Congratulations to our talented Charlotte Marriott and her ensemble on their outstanding performance at the NZCT Chamber Music Contest.

The group named "Dihsasterisks" delivered a polished and expressive rendition of Movements I and III from Francis Poulenc's Sextet for Piano and Winds, showcasing a high level of musicianship, technical skill, and ensemble cohesion.

Other students in the sextet were from Kristin School, Diocesan School for Girls, Baradene College, Liston College and Avondale College. Poulenc's Sextet is a challenging work that demands precision, strong communication between performers, and a deep understanding of musical style.

The ensemble rose to the occasion, performing with confidence, energy, and musical maturity. Their interpretation captured the vibrant character, lyrical beauty, and playful spirit that make this work a favourite of the chamber music repertoire.

The performance was a testament to the many hours of dedicated rehearsal and preparation undertaken by the musicians. We are incredibly proud of their achievement and the professionalism they displayed throughout the competition. Well done on representing our school Charlotte with such distinction and delivering a truly memorable performance.
