Rutherford College celebrates academic success in various ways. Students are acknowledged at year level assemblies and at Junior and Senior Prizegivings. 

​Early in Term 1 each year we celebrate our academic scholars in Scholars' Assembly. This is a chance to acknowledge students who have achieved NCEA Level 1, 2 and 3 with excellence as well as those students who have gained a subject scholarship in the NZ Scholarship examinations.

Each year our students apply and are successful in gaining scholarships to various tertiary providers such at AUT, University of Auckland, Otago and Victoria University. There are always scholarships available for students in a wide range of areas and help in applying can be sought from our Careers Department and through the Year 13 Dean.
